July, 2025: ADDRESSING THE RISK OF IMPROVISED INCENDIARY DEVICES WITH XRT

Modern threat actors misuse everyday items, such as lithium batteries, to construct improvised incendiary devices (IIDs). In response, the European Commission has updated training requirements for X-ray and EDS screening personnel. CASRA developed an IID training package – with e-learning, X-ray training, and test modules – to help aviation stakeholders enhance security awareness, strengthen preparedness, and meet these new requirements.
