Customs Screening

The expectation of governments and citizens when it comes to Customs and border security authorities is that they will both impede the import of goods that endanger public safety and prevent import tax evasion, while facilitating international trade.

CASRA has developed specific training services and products that are tailored to Customs screening. Our Customs X-ray training modules include both security threats and the diversified list of illicit goods that fall under Customs’ purview, such as currency and valuables, narcotics and pharmaceuticals, protected species and tobacco, alcohol, among others.

Computer-based training (CBT) modules are available for the areas of:

Customs Baggage Screening, focusing only on cabin baggage or also including hold baggage
Customs Air Cargo Screening, focusing on cargo pallets
Customs Mail & Parcel Screening, focusing on postal screening
Customs Ports & Land, focusing on high energy images both from ports and land crossings

Customs X-Ray Image Analysis and Interpretation Training Instructions
CASRA’s instructions combine theoretical modules, computer-based training (CBT) X-ray image exercises and the specialized knowledge of our instructors. Training instructions for Customs organizations and similar agencies are offered for both high energy and conventional X-ray systems, including Train the Trainers courses.
