What is X-Ray Tutor ?

X-Ray Tutor5 (XRT5) is an all-encompassing training and testing solution. The software is the designated successor of XRT4. The features for image interpretation allow you to select, train and test X-ray security officers
with single-view and dual-view images as well as 3D computed tomography technology.

XRT5 runs without any plugin on various internet browsers. It is highly flexible and configurable and supports different user interfaces for several machine types. Customers can also upload their own images and create customized training and testing courses, as well as theoretical content used in e-learnings.

Besides being single-view, dual-view, and 3D CT compatible, XRT5 supports the computer-based training and testing of security officers in various areas of operation. Apart from the standard cabin and hold baggage there is cargo, mail, air supply and staff training, as well as even large-scale truck screening in the area of customs. Large Library Based on Systematic Threat Assessment

LARGE IMAGE LIBRARY BASED ON SYSTEMATIC THREAT ASSESSMENT

XRT4 is available for different fields of operation, such as Cabin Baggage Screening, Cargo Screening, etc. Each library contains high-quality X-ray images of several hundred prohibited objects in various rotations and several thousand containers (e.g. bags, parcels – depending on the field of operation). The regular updates of the image library are based on a systematic threat assessment taking into account new and emerging threats.

Response Configuration

RESPONSE CONFIGURATION

The response buttons are customizable in order to train the appropriate reaction of security officers to threat items. Instead of OK and Not OK buttons, the specific actions can be defined in more detail to meet the requirements of national regulations and/or internal procedures. If required, the security officers can be asked to choose a category for suspected prohibited objects.

Detailed Feedback, Reporting and Data Warehousing

DETAILED FEEDBACK, REPORTING AND DATA WAREHOUSING

It is important for security officers to receive detailed and immediate feedback, in order to get the most out of computer-based training. XRT4 gives feedback on single images, on training sessions and on level progress. Furthermore, administrators have access to an integrated reporting in the application and all important data is stored in a data warehouse accessible for customers.

The XRT4 Expert feature enables a whole range of customization and tailoring to your needs. You can create and upload your images in different formats combining them with image libraries provided by CASRA.
You can also build your own training and testing sessions, both practical and theoretical, and choose from a range of configurations and customizations so that they reflect the requirements of your organization.

All our bags and other containers originate from operational conditions at airports and other areas; our threat images are derived from a systematic threat assessment and are recorded with the help of law enforcement agencies. X-Ray Tutor 5 can either be used as a web-based (hosted) solution or be installed on a local server. Depending on the customer’s requirements, one or both solutions are possible. We recommend the following system configuration:

What is the difference between X-Ray Tutor and X-Ray Tutor Expert?

Does X-Ray Tutor have the official recognition by the German authorities LBA and BPOL?

Like the previous version, X-Ray Tutor 3, also our new complete suite, X-Ray Tutor (XRT or XRT5) has received the official recognition by the German Federal Aviation Office, Luftfahrt Bundesamt (LBA) and the German Federal Police, Bundespolizei (BPOL), for the use as training and testing software for aviation security screeners in the field of X-ray images analysis.
XRT is available for different operation fields, such as Cabin Baggage Screening (§5), Hold Baggage Screening (§5), which are under the jurisdiction of BPOL, and Cargo Screening (§9), Air/ Airport Supply (§8), which are under the jurisdiction of LBA, and many more.

Is X-Ray Tutor compliant with ICAO framework?

Our complete suite, X-Ray Tutor (XRT or XRT5), provides a comprehensive response to ICAO Annex 17 standards and recommendations on screener training and certification, including latest Amendment 18 requirements on competency assessment. XRT also reflects guidance contained in the ICAO Aviation Security Manual, particularly the recent document 'Aviation Security Function Specific Training – Competency-Based Training'. XRT - the scientifically proven solution - vastly helps in providing a competent workforce through valid, reliable and objective training and assessment tools.
